Two new maps have been released for the upcoming action-adventure shooter Ghost Recon: Wildlands, which detail the game’s open-world bosses, regions, and ecosystems.
Six months ago, parts of the full map leaked, though at the time, gamers weren’t sure if the map shown would be the final product. Today, the game publisher released new information about the map in Ghost Recon: Wildlands that shows a large area for players to explore and conquer, as well as numerous regions, ecosystems, and bosses. As seen below, the first revealed map gives gamers a taste for the layout of Ghost Recon: Wildlands.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands is set in Bolivia, and while the game’s isn’t quite as big as The Division, it will put players in the harsh wilderness the country is known for. Ubisoft says the location is “The most beautiful and dangerous place on earth.” If the trailers that were released earlier are to be believed, this will definitely be true in Ghost Recon: Wildlands.
The photo of the map also claims that it’s Ubisoft’s largest action/adventure open world to date. No measurements have been provided yet, so gamers won’t be able to compare it with other large-scale open-world maps just yet, such as the one in Grand Theft Auto 5, but what’s provided looks impressive.
Ubisoft says there are 26 bosses in the world of Ghost Recon: Wildlands, and they can be found inside the game’s 21 regions. The map also features 11 ecosystems, which will give plenty of variety as players take on the more than two-dozen bosses.
Inside the huge world of Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Ubisoft says there will be lots of activity and engagement. As a matter of fact, the game’s lead artist and technical art director, Benoit Martinez, revealed that the company has recently created an interactive world that’s alive with NPCs. Martinez said:
“We have a full agenda for the NPCs, so they really live in the world. They go to bed at night. They get up. They go to work. Whether or not you interact with them or not, they live their own life.”
Ghost Recon: Wildlands is scheduled to launch on March 7, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
