Publisher Electronic Arts and developer DICE are preparing to show brand new footage for the upcoming World War I shooter Battlefield 1 at gamescom 2016.
As stated by Randy Evans, DICE’s and Electronic Arts’ Senior Video and Media Director and Editor, the studios are preparing to release fresh footage of Battlefield 1 that will be presented at gamescom 2016, which is two weeks from now. Since neither the developer nor publisher have revealed what the trailer will contain, fans have been left to guess whether it will be strictly cinematic, developed upon previously released gameplay footage, or maybe even give a combination of the two.
Whatever the case may be about the trailer’s materials, as seen in Evans’ tweet below, the work he and his team did so far has apparently resulted in footage that’s nowhere near disappointing. That being said, we can only hope that it will give fans an even wider understanding as to what can be expected from all of Battlefield 1 after the game’s release this fall.
Right now, Battlefield 1 fans got a lot to digest as far as the game’s multiplayer aspects are concerned, so perhaps the latest trailer will focus on the World War 1 shooter’s single player mode. Most important, DICE and Electronic Arts haven’t really talked about or even touched on what experience will the players have in the game’s campaign.
However, it seems as if DICE and Electronic Arts will be maximizing the time spent at this year’s European gaming conference as much as it needs, because not only have the studios behind Battlefield 1 now officially confirmed new footage that’s on its way, but also a German community developer teased for the game recently that the title’s beta is getting released after gamescom.
Even though the open trial’s exact date, time, or contents haven’t been given for those looking to get involved, it’s possible that developers could simply offer up the first person shooter’s San Quentin Scar map for the beta after revealing when it will start, as it did with Battlefield 1’s closed alpha test.
Battlefield 1 is coming out on October 21, 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
