It seems that a Brazilian retailer has prematurely revealed the release date for the hotly anticipated Crash Bandicoot: N Sane Trilogy, setting the game for release very soon.
Crash Bandicoot: N Sane Trilogy’s launch date may have been ousted by a Brazilian gaming Retailer Zillion Games (via Gametransfers). According to the online store, the blockbuster remaster is set to arrive really soon, with an alleged release of February 28, 2017. Gamers should not take this listing seriously because of how legitimate this posting may be, as just by looking at Zillion Games’ listing does indeed utilize screenshots of Crash Bandicoot in a newer game – albeit within the newest Skylanders.
Fans were given their very first look at Crash Bandicoot: N Sane Trilogy during PlayStation Experience 2016. After that, anticipation for the return of Crash has slowly been building, that’s why any potential news about the mascot’s return is enough to (at least for the time being) satiate the needs of fans chomping at the bit for details on the Bandicoot. Maybe this release date leak isn’t the best satisfying N Sane Trilogy bit, but retailers have ousted gaming launches in the past.
With all of this taken into consideration, February 28th seems like it would be a rather quick turn around for the project – especially since Sony didn’t even show gameplay at its E3 2016 reveal. Naturally, it could be that Activision began developing the Crash Bandicoot revamp for quite some time now, and fans can expect a much sooner release as a result.
In spite of what the actual release date ends being, it’ll be interesting to see how well the audience takes to the character’s comeback. With the future of Crash Bandicoot possibly riding on the success of the N Sane Trilogy, those who hope to see more of the witless spin-monster will just have to hope the property still resonates with a broader audience.
Crash Bandicoot: N Sane Trilogy is officially planned to arrive exclusively for PlayStation 4 in 2017.
