Respawn Entertainment offers players a closer look at Titanfall 2’s single player campaign with new details and a cinematic teaser trailer.
Even though Titanfall’s multiplayer element showed a lot of promise and offered hours of entertainment to players. With no single player campaign, Titanfall didn’t have a long reach and in turn struggled to keep up with titles like Call of Duty and Battlefield.
Respawn Entertainment, at a recent event, offered a closer look at the Titanfall 2’s single player campaign. The demonstration of Titanfall 2 featured a few different sections of the campaign, meant to show that it’s more in line with players’ hopes than what was offered in the first game.
The Standout elements of note were a decided change in tone for the campaign, which follows Pilot Jack Cooper and his Titan BT-7274, and unlike the Pilot/Titan relationship featured in the multiplayer the campaign adds a much needed dose of humor to the proceedings, while Jack and BT explore the environments. The campaign is a buddy movie centered on a soldier and his newly found robot.
Enemy encounters in Titanfall 2 will also be focused on open areas, in which players can take advantage of the movement options available to Pilots. These areas are big enough to support Titans and a handful of other enemy types but obviously the focus in the campaign is on guiding players towards a specific goal. The campaign is not a series of multiplayer’s modes masquerading as story progression.
Respawn and EA has released a trailer which better illustrates the aforementioned point. Gamers can see the story in Titanfall 2 and the fully fleshed out characters.
It’s clear that Respawn Entertainment is heading for a more cinematic feel with their upcoming Titanfall 2 campaign, but the verdict is still in the gamers’ hands. Unfortunately though, that will have to wait until the game launches in October, as far as the single player campaign is concerned.
Titanfall 2’s multiplayer is slated to hold a technical test at some point before launch, so it could be only a few weeks ago. Titanfall 2 will release October 28, 2016 for PS4, Xbox One, PC.
