The sci-fi shooter’s first week of sales in the UK has been seriously underwhelming, which is a surprise as there were reports that Titanfall 2 will make a huge boom in sales in the gaming market. Unfortunately, its sales are worse than the original Titanfall.
Titanfall 2 has been out only for a few days, and according to critical reviews that have surfaced, Respawn Entertainment’s new sci-fi shooter is nothing short of a fantastic experience that’s a follow-up to the first game. Positive reviews can go so far and it appears that Titanfall 2 had an underwhelming first week of sales in the UK.
Chart Track stated that Titanfall 2 sold fewer copies than the original game and has only managed to enter the UK charts at number four, behind Battlefield 1, The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Special Edition and Fifa 17. Just to compare, the first Titanfall stayed at first spot for four weeks despite being an Xbox exclusive as opposed to Titanfall 2’s mutiple platform availability.
It still has to be seen whether or not Titanfall 2 can dig itself out of this sales hole it fell into, but the shooter has enough gameplay features to shift the tide in its favor. The addition of a single-player campaign is one of the reasons why the game’s title is such a positive word that comes to a person’s mouth, a feature that was missing in the first game. Respawn Entertainment are also doing right with their promise to deliver a free DLC for all gamers in an attempt to maintain unity within the community.
Sale numbers are not positive in the UK at the moment, and unfortunately, the situation looks hopeless because the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is coming in a few days. Titanfall 2 has lived up to its award as the best online multiplayer of E3 2016, but it looks like the game will have a tough fight against some heavyweight competition.
Titanfall 2 is available for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
