RiME
This is a game from this year and is developed and released by Tequila Works and is solely done under Unreal Engine 4.
This is an Indie game as it has some ups and downs throughout its making and is adventure-puzzle viedo game.
The writers behind this unexpectedly sad story being symbolically revealed at the very end of the game are Rob Yescombe
and Raúl Rubio Munárriz and the adittional emotions and vivid experiences are being tackled and aroused by the program
music composed by David García Díaz, simply said, unknown people that are simply worth to be honoured for their work,
at least by mentioning their names as we did.
With this being said we could now take a closer look into the game itself. You start as a boy who is washed ashore on a
mysterious island. As you progress, you find yourself guided by a magical fox and further you encounter a mysterious man
in a red cape. These encounters occur on several occasions and every time the boy doesn’t succeed to reach him. Throughout
the game, the boy experiences recalls on his memories about how he came to the mysterious island and in one of these it is
revealed that the man in red was in fact his father who was with him on a boat.
It is also revealed that his father was with him before he fell into the sea and the red piece of cloth the boy always carries was
ripped off from his cape while his father was trying to prevent him from falling. Now, here comes the saddest part of the story.
We have been entertained by the music throughout the whole game and in the end we reveal the morbid truth about our main
protagonist. After reaching the heart of the island, the boy leaves the island and his spirit reaches his father, implying that he died.
The father lets the piece of cloth fly to the wind, apparently accepting the loss of his son.
