Battlefield 1 Releases Teaser for DLC Reveal Coming Next Week

Electronic Arts and DICE have officially released a short teaser for a reveal next week related to the upcoming Battlefield 1 DLC pack, They Shall Not Pass.

Few weeks ago, developer of video games DICE and publisher Electronic Arts provided fans of Battlefield 1 with details for the new Custom Game mode called Bleed Out, while also teasing some details about the first-person shooter’s February update. Although fans have certainly welcomed that sort of information with open arms, it’s safe to say that the Battlefield 1 community is more concentrated on receiving a better idea about the game’s first piece of paid post-launch content known as They Shall Not Pass.

With that being the case, DICE and Electronic Arts have posted an update from the official Battlefield 1 Twitter account to provide a brief teaser for a reveal that’s supposedly scheduled to take place sometime next week for the They Shall Not Pass DLC. As seen in the tweet below, the fifteen seconds clip shows a soldier wielding a club turning to face a blazing fire while standing at the ready in front of a French flag waving in the background.

For those unaware, Battlefield 1’s They Shall Not Pass expansion is set during the Battle of Verdun in France and introduces the French army to the game. As DICE explained earlier, roughly 1 million shells were fired during the opening parts of the battle alone, causing many forest fires, which is why there will be trees engulfed in flames in the DLC’s maps. As it happens, the main focus of one of the maps will be a version of the Samogneux village, while another will show off the conflicts that took place inside Fort Vaux.

In addition, They Shall Not Pass will also introduce a third map that is set on a battlefield torn apart by artillery shells. According to DICE, about 40 million shells were fired throughout the entirety of the Battle of Verdun, ultimately wiping out the environment that morphed “the earth into a shattered lunar landscape.” Not to mention, there will be at least one map that features “underground fortresses,” but nothing has been confirmed yet by developers.

Battlefield 1 is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
