No Man’s Sky Day One Patch Notes Revealed

The founder of Hello Games, Sean Murray has released the patch notes for the first major free content update for the upcoming space exploration game No Man’s Sky.

After five years of work, Hello Games has finished No Man’s Sky, an ambitious space exploration game that’s been awaited by gamers since it got revealed to the public in 2013. Instead of getting a well deserved break to celebrate the game’s completion, Sean Murray and his team worked hard on its first major update, which he has now detailed in a post on the game’s website.

For those reviewing the game, the first update for No Man’s Sky will be available tomorrow, and those that acquired early copies. From the looks of the patch notes, it’s going to be quite major, making a few important changes to No Man’s Sky, and expanding a number of its features.

Players can expect to encounter more diverse creatures, ships, and plant life, for example. Some of the 18 quintillion planets get tweaked as well, and there will now be extreme hazardous ones that have dust storms and dangerous blizzards for players to face with. Terrain generation is also getting improved, so after downloading the patch players can look forward to see more varied environments in the game.

Most of No Man’s Sky gameplay mechanics are being polished as well. Trading is going to be more sophisticated, based on a galactic economy that changes over time. Alien monsters are also being made more complex; not only will they have their own alien languages, they will also have their own diets. Players will have the ability to feed aliens they come across in the game, and if done correctly, the aliens can become protectors or pets.

No Man’s Sky launches on August 9th for PS4 and August 12th for PC.
