Mean Streets of Gadgetzan is Hearthstone’s Next Expansion

Blizzard announced that the newest expansion coming to Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft will be called Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, with 132 new cards and brand new tri-class cards on the way.

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft will be receiving its fourth expansion later this year, called Mean Streets of Gadgetzan. The expansion will focus on the desert outpost of the same name in World of Warcraft, and will contain three major crime syndicate groups: the Grimy Goons, Jade Lotus, and Kabal. Each syndicate will provide several classes, with the Grimy Goons being home to the Hunters, Paladins, and Warriors, while Jade Lotus gets the Druids, Rogues, and Shamans, and Kabal hosts the Mages, Priests, and Warlocks.

Mean Streets of Gadgetzan will take a new turn on things, introducing nine tri-class cards. Each clan will have three tri-class cards, including one Legendary. Unlike particular prior single-class cards, these cards will be usable with any of the three hero classes designated by the crime group they belong to. The 132 individual cards released in the expansion will be available as in-game drops through Arena matches, but players can pick them up with in-game gold or real world currency as well. A booster pack set of 50 cards is also currently available for pre-order for $49.99, and is set to unlock on December 31st.

This expansion arrives shortly after Hearthstone’s last add-on, One Night in Karazhan, which launched back in August. Mean Streets of Gadgetzan will be the third add-on for the game and second expansion in this year alone, showing that Blizzard is working hard to make the best of Hearthstone’s tremendous popularity and success. Hearthstone’s reviews were excellent on release, and has since continued to generate a whopping $20 million monthly revenue. Even though the World of Warcraft physical card game released by Blizzard was a let down compared to other established card games, its digital counterpart has been a boon for the developer, making it a massive hit same as World of Warcraft and Overwatch.

Mean Streets of Gadgetzan will be available for Hearthstone later this year on the PC, iPad, and Android and iOS mobile devices.
