Final Fantasy 15 Glitch Unlocks Niflheim Empire

As a result of a new glitch found by a YouTuber, players can now explore the open world in the linear second half of Final Fantasy 15.

For those unaware, the first half of Final Fantasy 15 is an open-world that takes place in Lucis while the second half focuses the gameplay towards a more linear progression and takes place on the Niflheim continent. However, YouTuber Caelum Rabanastre XII/XV recently discovered a new glitch which lets players to go out of the map’s usual confines during the game’s linear Niflheim half, giving gamers the chance to explore an entirely different continent.

Although Caelum doesn’t reveal how he actually made it out of the map, he had exploited the exact glitch earlier in the Lucis open-world using Noctis’ Warp Strike attack on specific areas of the map. This suggests that he used a similar technique when he succeeded in getting to the Niflheim section of the game, but players won’t have to wait long to find out how to exploit this glitch as Caelum promised that he’ll show how he managed to do it in a new video.

Players shouldn’t expect to find a whole lot in Niflheim besides a variety of detailed but empty fields as the whole map is devoid of almost any interesting locale or landmark. But considering that players are able to explore an enormous second open world map with almost no boundaries (aside from not being able to call Chocobos or sometimes hitting a never-ending loading screen), this certainly suggests that Square Enix initially had bigger plans in store for Final Fantasy 15.

It’s a matter of question as to what will become of this Niflheim open world map and if Square Enix plans on patching it out, but there’s a possibility that it could be used for some of Final Fantasy 15’s upcoming DLC packs. With almost three story expansions packs focusing on Gladio, Ignis, and Prompto still to come this year, as well as plentiful amounts of free content, players may very well find themselves exploring Niflheim at some point in the future without using any glitches.

Final Fantasy XV is currently available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
