Developer Darkflow Software reveals its ambitious new game, Enlisted, which gives players a chance to experience some of the most iconic battles of World War II.
Enlisted will feature squad-based multiplayer action and take place in real-world historical battles. In the first two battles, players will experience Battle of Moscow and the Battle of Normandy. The aforementioned Battle of Normandy is one of the most famous battles in history. Every battle in the campaign will take place in phases, which is meant to reflect the weeks or months some battles took to settle during World War II.
In addition to the locations, Enlisted will have historically-accurate weapons and characters. Watch the tailer below for a first look at Enlisted. Enlisted will introduce large battles with 100 players per map. Just like in Battlefield games, players will be able to enjoy destructible environments, with the game running on Gaijin’s Dagor engine. Furthermore, Alexander Nagorny, Enlisted’s producer, shared in a statement that the team working on the game will take player’s feedback about future campaign missions and elements seriously:
“Enlisted is an ambitious undertaking, unlike any game we have ever created. It will be a first-person shooter decided by the fans, for the fans. They will have direct input into what we create, including things like campaigns, game modes, even which platforms after PC we will support.”
The first two battles are currently available for preorder on PC as standalone titles. Gamers can get the Battle of Moscow or Battle of Normandy for $22 each, or get both including some other digital goodies for $50. Those who preorder the game will have access to Enlisted’s closed beta, which is scheduled for sometime in 2017.
Since this will be the first big title from Darkflow Software, strong funding would mean not only strong growth for Enlisted, but a bright future for the developer. Let us hope the title meets gamer expectation and gamers can look forward to more from the young developer.
Enlisted is planned to release on PC in 2017.
