An open beta has been announced for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, alongside a new playable character and information about new Expert Mission mode.
It’s a perfect time to be a Toriyama fan, as Namco Bandai made an announcement that an open beta is on its way for the upcoming game Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, as well as confirming Majin Vegeta will be a playable character in-game.
There are only 2 months to go before the game’s release date and publisher Bandai Namco is all set to reveal new information about the latest game in the Dragon Ball franchise. First off, an open beta has been announced that will allow players to explore for themselves what features have changed since the release of the original Dragon Ball Xenoverse in 2015.
No info yet on what will the beta contain, although it’s possible that fans of Dragon Ball will get their first look at Conton City – the new game hub introduced in the latest game trailer that’s reportedly 7 times larger than that of the previous installment.
In addition to the beta, the publisher also revealed that fan-favorite character Majin Vegeta is going to make an appearance in-game. Rival to Goku, the form of Majin Vegeta was brought about by the evil wizard Babidi amplifying the saiyan’s power level by using the evil in his heart. Although that form isn’t going to return in the currently-airing Dragon Ball Super, his departure from the DBZ series will be the most unforgettable Dragon Ball scenes of all time.
Finally, Bandai Namco unveiled its Expert Mission multiplayer gamemode. In the Expert Mission mode, 6 players will be able to team up in order to fight against giant NPC bosses such as the mighty Great Ape forms. Furthermore, the game’s single player will reportedly be twice the length of Xenoverse’s which should satisfy fans who are looking for more gameplay before the endgame grinding starts.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will launch on October 25 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
