Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night gets Delayed

The project leader for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, announced in a recent development video that the game will be delayed until the first half of 2018.

After Castlevania’s producer Koji Igarashi, who is also known as IGA, left from Konami in 2014, fans started wondering what this developer would do next. The answer to this question happened when IGA announced that he was planning to make Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night with the help of Kickstarter, which started to become one of the highest crowdfunded games ever. Fans are eagerly anticipating the game’s release, but, unfortunately for fans, they will have to wait a bit longer than expected.

In a new video released on the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night YouTube channel, IGA said that in order for the game to meet his quality standards, he will bring in a new development team to assist in the project’s production, and, as a result, the game will be delayed from early 2017 to early or mid 2018. There is no concrete release date set, but IGA stated that he wants to get Bloodstained done right the first time before giving his apology to fans and backers.

In spite of the delay, IGA said that the development was going well, which can be seen in the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night E3 2016 demo that was released a few months ago, and that the team will share information with the public soon.

Kickstarter announced projects are known for the early-in-development reveal, which is why delays are no surprise and release dates are pushed back on the go. But, given the fact that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s development team has managed to release a demo and is bringing more staff to help finish the game, it’s a promising sign that the final product may live up to the hype and help crowd-funded games get back their faith in gamers.
