John Stauffer, head of creative communications, confirmed a new multiplayer mode for Batman The Telltale Series which will have the name Crowd Play and it will be available once the game launches.
Telltale games are known for making adventure style games set in a lot of interesting worlds like The Walking Dead, Borderlands, Sam and Max and a lot more. Yet, they may best be known for pushing players into making difficult decisions, altering how the game unfolds. Things at Telltale have changed with Batman: The Telltale Series, as in before this game, there weren’t any multiplayer games released by Telltale.
John Stauffer, the head of creative communications at Telltale games, has confirmed that a new crowd play mode will allow players to let other people join in to help make decisions. Two modes will be available, one will allow viewers to make the decision, and the other to just voice their opinion. Once this mode is turned on, a URL will shared out which other players can use to enter the game and participate. Everyone who joins the game will be able to react to the decisions being made, with a thumbs up or a thumbs down which the host will be able to see as a percentage for how many voted on each option.
This may sound like an ideal feature for streamers to engage their subscribers in, but as Stauffer said, Crowd Play may experience some latency issues. Still, if Telltale can work the issues before the season end by the end of 2016, this might just prove to be a very intriguing new addition.
Some time after the game went pretty quit after its announcement last December during The Game Awards show, news started picking up and creating hype for it, and after initially teasing the release date a few weeks ago, Telltale have revealed the actual launch date through the first gameplay trailer to be August 2 or September 13 for anyone willing to purchase a physical copy of the game.
Batman: The Telltale Series will come out August 2 on PlayStation4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and iOS/Android devices.
