Highly awaited space exploration title No Man’s Sky is officially ready for disc pressing, as developer Hello Games has confirmed the game has gone gold.
In a recent Tweet on the official No Man’s Sky Twitter page, the development team at Hello Games can be seen celebrating with a pressed disc in-hand. The amount of people in the picture is worth noting, since Hello Games first began to work on the game with a very small team. That team has since grown to include a larger force, who’s ready to launch a new game.
The team has come a long way since their offices got flooded back in 2014. In that period, the Hello Games team was very small and it seemed the flood might thwart any progress on No Man’s Sky. But after nearly two years later, the finished produced has now gone gold and surely it’s going to be celebrated.
For those who don’t know, when a game like No Man’s Sky goes gold, it means that the code is finalized and ready for disc pressing. In the case of modern releases that doesn’t mean that the development has finished – there’s still the possibility of a day 1 patch – but the gold designation is suggesting that the game won’t be delayed.
With that said, Uncharted 4 went gold and was still delayed but that delay was to make sure that the product would be available for a global release. It’s safe to assume that No Man’s Sky will not have any high demands like Uncharted 4 and therefore an August launch is still possible.
Also, there are alien languages to decrypt and spaceships to make better and faster, which it’s not something one often sees in games. Even the end goal of making it to the center of the universe should appeal to a wider audience of gamers, many of whom are searching for the great experience to end their summer thirst.
No Man’s Sky will arrive on August 9, 2016 for PC and PS4.
