Star Wars: Squadrons is a space combat simulation game set in the Star Wars universe. The game follows the story of a pilot from the New Republic’s Vanguard Squadron and an Imperial pilot from Titan Squadron, as they engage in combat against each other in a war between the New Republic and the remnants of the Galactic Empire. Players have the ability to switch between both sides and experience the story from both perspectives.
Players control various starfighters and engage in first-person dogfights and large-scale fleet battles. Starfighters can be customized with various weapons, shields, engines, and cosmetic items. There are different starfighter classes to choose from including X-Wings, A-Wings, TIE Fighters, and more. The gameplay also includes a single-player campaign as well as multiplayer dogfight and fleet battles.
Squadrons also includes VR compatibility, allowing players to experience the game in a fully immersive VR environment. The game also has a strong emphasis on teamwork, as players can work together in multiplayer modes to coordinate their attacks, defend their teammates, and defeat the enemy.
There are different multiplayer modes where players can engage in 5v5 dogfighting battles in various game modes such as Fleet Battles, Dogfight, and Strike. Fleet Battles are large-scale multiplayer engagements in which players must work together to take down the enemy’s flagship while defending their own. Dogfight is a straightforward deathmatch mode where players can hone their piloting skills against others. Strike is a mode in which players must work together to complete objectives and eliminate enemy targets.
