This remastered release of the first three Mass Effect games includes the following content:
The release is singleplayer-only, and the multiplayer features of Mass Effect 3 are not included; to compensate for this, the requirements for the different endings in the game have been reworked so players can still receive any of them. Also, due to the loss of its source code, Mass Effect: Pinnacle Station is also absent.
The visuals have received a significant update despite the games using Unreal Engine 3 like their original versions, with the addition of a photo mode, native 21:9 resolution options, and DirectX 11 support. The character creation menu in all games is now based on the one from ME3, and many of the designs of characters, objects and locations were backported from that game to the other two as well. All three games received a balancing pass, most notably the Mako from ME1, as well as interface tweaks, the availability of all difficulty levels from the start, and an optional new leveling system in ME1. Finally, many bug fixes are implemented, some of which fix issues with importing decisions from one game to another via savegame files.
The games are accessed from a unified launcher by default, but can be started individually. The three games are otherwise separate, and can be installed separately from each other on consoles, but only the whole compilation can be installed on Windows.
