Telltale Games revealed the release date for their episodic series, Batman: The Telltale Series in a post on their official blog.
Rocksteady’s Batman: Return to Arkham collection was delayed out of the summer release windows, but fans will still get a Batman game thanks to the episodic game developers, Telltale Games. Most details still remain unknown, but gamers will get to experience an all-new iteration of the iconic character and his origin story, that will put them in the shoes of Bruce Wayne as much as the Dark Knight. After all the hints about Telltale Games’ Batman’s release, they have finally confirmed when players can finally venture into GOtham City.
In the post on the official Telltale Games blog, the release window for their next episodic game, Batman: The Telltale Series, has been narrowed down to August. While the developer knows the exact date when the game will be available to purchase, they chose to save the announcement for next week, when a world premier trailer will be revealed to the news.
Fans will be able to pick up a physical copy of Batman: The Telltale Series starting on September 13 in North America as a special season pass disc, which includes the first five episodes and grant access to the last four once they become available. European users will be able to get the retail edition three days later, on September 16.
Fans that will show up at San Diego Comic Con, which kicks off next week, will get the opportunity to see the first episode of the series premier on a big screen at a special crowd play event which will take place on Saturday, July 23. Hosted by Greg Miller, an internet personality, the event will also feature Troy Baker, who voices Bruce Wayne, and some of the Telltale team on hand to help the audience should out and direct the choices on screen.
It’s been a short window between when the game was first announced at the Game Awards last December, and there are still a lot of fans who don’t know about the upcoming mysterious game. E3 that was held last month, provided a little more insight including the cast of the characters and new screenshots which show Bruce Wayne inside Wayne Manor and Batman looking at the Batmobile. Outside of this very little information, nothing else has been revealed regarding the overall plot for the Batman episodic series.
