Executive producer of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, John Mamais, talks about Cyberpunk 2077 in the pre-show segment of the Golden Joystick Awards, hyping up the upcoming title with a strong statement.
Speaking on the pre-show segment of the Golden Joystick Awards, the executive producer of Cyberpunk 2077, John Mamais, who was also the executive producer for The Witcher 3, briefly got carried away about the project. Questioned on what to expect from the title by the host of the pre-awards show segment, Mamais overemphasized the game with a quote that might be a bit blue for younger readers. As expected, Mamais stated that Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be “really, really, really f**king badass.”
Unfortunately, that was all that Mamais has shared about the game, continuing the trend of CD Projekt Red staff being secretive about the title aside from pieces of information and praise here and there, such as the announcement earlier that the game is “more ambitious” than The Witcher 3. Those viewers who are interested in checking out the quote in the video below can simply skip to 18:48 to see the complete segment with Mamais and Geralt voice actor Doug Cockle, or jump to 23:20 to see the quote directly.
The Golden Joystick Awards show itself turned out to be a good night overall for CD Projekt Red, in addition to such esteemed awards as the GDC Game of the Year. The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine received the awards for Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design, while Cockle himself also got awarded with the nod for Best Gaming Performance. CD Projekt Red also won one of the most desired awards of the entire show, as it was named Studio of the Year.
With Blood and Wine being the final major piece of DLC for The Witcher 3, the gaming community has been waiting for more details on Cyberpunk 2077, but once again these have been hard to come by. Some detective behind the scenes has slipped some tidbits of information, such as the suspicions that the game will feature seamless multiplayer and a ‘living’ city. It could also indicate that flying vehicles may be coming to Cyberpunk 2077, considering the job listings for the studio.
Cyberpunk 2077 is still in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
