In a post on Facebook, Nintendo Switch hints at a new title for the console-handheld hybrid that will come as a surprise to gamers.
Regardless of the mixed reactions from gamers, many inside the gaming industry cannot wait to see what Nintendo has planned for the Nintendo Switch. Xbox boss Phil Spencer voiced his support for the device, adding that he’s impressed by the Nintendo Switch, and Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said he thinks the Nintendo Switch might redefine gaming.
It appears that Ubisoft’s Guillemot isn’t finished talking about the new Nintendo device. In a post on Facebook, the Ubisoft CEO shared his thoughts on the Nintendo Switch, and dropped some hints about one more major title coming to the new Nintendo console/handheld hybrid. Guillemont said:
“With the Switch’s unique capacities and design, Nintendo could again redefine the way we play games! The Switch is accessible at its core and will give people the freedom and the pleasure to share more experiences and play anywhere at anytime.”
One can only guess as to what that surprise title may be, but taking into consideration the timing of the Nintendo Switch release in March 2017, it wouldn’t be a surprise if we see Ghost Recon Wildlands making its way to the device. Whether or not Wildlands will come to Nintendo Switch will depend mostly on the console’s capabilities and the game’s system requirements. Nintendo hasn’t got any plans to release details of the Switch’s specs until January, so gamers probably won’t learn any more info about what Ubisoft is planning until then. But the announcement from Guillemont will certainly keep gamers talking. That being said, it could be the long awaited and rumored Nintendo Switch exclusive Beyond Good & Evil 2, but Guillemont hasn’t shared anything yet.
Nintendo has already revealed that core gamers won’t be the target of the Nintendo Switch, but will rather look to capture casual and mobile gamers who want an experience that expands beyond smartphones and tablets. So although Guillemont didn’t reveal what the surprise game is, it’s more than enough to keep gamers excited for the title.
The Nintendo Switch is scheduled to release in March 2017.
