Respawn Entertainment has released a new trailer for Titanfall 2 that offers a detailed look at the game’s singleplyaer story mode and the characters featured in it.
With the first Titanfall game, Respawn introduced an innovative take on a first person shooter game, with a robust movement system that has been copied by the biggest FPS franchises in the gaming industry. With Titanfall 2 Respawn is looking to build on that foundation by bringing in a few of the new features to make it a meatier experience than Titafall 1, and on eof the main ways is with a singleplayer story mode.
Respawn released an impressive cinematic trailer about Titanfall 2’s story mode in the past which included reveal of the main characters. Now, the company put out a new trailer that gives players an in-depth look at what the Titanfall 2 story mode will entail, including the way it connects with the previous game, and how the relationship between Jack and BT will materialize throughout the campaign.
The story in Titanfall 2 takes place five years after the events of the previous game. The “Militia”, as known, has managed to retake small amount of the galaxy that has been taken over by the main antagonist, or ‘bad guy’ known as IMC, but face opposition from IMC mercs, like the return of character Blisk, as well as alien lifeforms that appeared briefly in the previous game. Jack and BT have to work together to survive the onslaught from these threats while also investigating a mysterious new planet.
Apart from the conversation system, it will be interesting to see if players are given other choices in the game to help shape the direction of the story. If so, it would be a change of pace for the developers at Respawn Entertainment, as a lot of them are used to working on linear games like Call of Duty. The team at Respawn has proven itself many times over in the past.
