The latest installment to the horror series got its own Steam page, which gives a release date, couple of new screenshots, and a scary description of the game’s setting.
This year has been great for fans of horror video games, the Resident Evil 7 demo broke download records on PS4 and We Happy Few is one of the most expected horror games of the year. Well, those who like creepy and spooky stuff might want to add another game to get excited about, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location.
A few months back, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location got teased in an announcement trailer, but up until today little else was known about the newest installment in the horror franchise. Today, the game’s page on Steam went up showing new screenshots, a short summary, and a October 2016 release date.
The game’s description on its Steam page doesn’t really describe the gameplay, rather it reads as a creepy and cryptic description of the game’s setting. Although this is a chilling description, it’s not indicating the type of gameplay Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location will offer. From the trailer it seems that this newest installment will go back to the tried and true formula of getting the player locked in a security room protected only by cameras and doors.
Nonetheless, the player is also shown on the trailer as he crawls through an air vent so it could be possible that players might be able to venture out of the security room at some point in the game. What the finished game will look like it’s probably a safe bet that Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location is not going to be another RPG, since the launch of Five Nights at Freddy’s World turned out to be a total disaster.
Until October, fans will just have to wait and see what animatronic horrors are lurking in the dark, until then they can try out the previous games or pick up the novel to fill that hole in their life.
