    Steam Halloween Sale 2016 Begins

The Steam annual Halloween Sale has started, offering discounts on large number of spooky, scary games and movies as well as plenty of other games at amazing prices.

Although horror titles are the focus of the Steam Halloween Sale, as usual, the deals are not solely on horror titles. A large number of games from every genre have been discounted for the duration of the event, from Grand Theft Auto V to The Witcher III. Valve is also putting effort on advertising games that have received Halloween updates, as well as games that have received an update close to Halloween. Mostly, however, it’s bunch of smaller games where the developers have  of their way to launch a special Halloween content update.

Nevertheless, Steam’s Halloween sale should cover all of the standard PC gamer’s expectations for big releases in the horror genre. That includes big horror franchises like: Resident Evil, Dead Space, FEAR, and BioShock. It also features cult horror hits like Outlast, Amnesia, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and Killing Floor. There are even lots of recent horror releases, including: Darkest Dungeon, Through the Woods, Zero Time Dilemma, and Inside.

Same like previous years, Steam’s Halloween Sale also offers discounts on movies for rental. The selection of movies from Steam isn’t particularly robust, but taken into consideration the relatively low expectations associated with scary movies, there should still be a good deal of cheap thrills to choose from.

Fans of Virtual Reality should be pleased to know that there are also many Halloween games available for them too, but they are difficult to find. By clicking on the “All Specials” button at the bottom of the Halloween Sale page, users can sort them by choice. Popular VR horror games, as well as plenty of non-horror VR titles, are steeply discounted. Some very spooky VR horror games are Dead Secret, Emily Wants to Play, A Chair in a Room, and Boogeyman. VR will help players to take horror to a whole new level, so those interested in trying it out should come prepared before jumping in.

The Halloween Sale on Steam is available now and will run through November 1, with the sale ending at 10:00am PT.
