Star Wars Battlefront 2 Will Be Playable at E3 2017

EA has confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront 2, the new Need for Speed title, and couple of its sports games will be playable at its EA Play event during E3 2017.

Publisher Electronic Arts confirms that both Star Wars and Need for Speed game will be playable at E3 2017. EA promised that the company’s annual EA Play event, which takes place alongside the main E3 festivities, will be a “great event for everyone.” The publisher confirms that EA Play will take place between June 10 – 12, with Star Wars Battlefront 2 and the new Need for Speed game being just two of the games available for hands-on time at the event.

The publisher’s plan for sports simulation games, including Madden NFL 18, FIFA 18 and NBA Live 18 will also be present and both attendees and those watching online can expect “more gameplay deep dives, competitive events, and exclusive interviews with the development teams.” Additional info will be shared in the “coming months,” too, so this may not be all that the event has to offer.

Those who cannot wait for both the new Star Wars game and the new Need for Speed will be delighted at this news, but unfortunately EA hasn’t shared more details as to what exactly can fans expect from the titles. For instance, while it has been confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will have a single-player campaign alongside the characters from latest movies, Rogue One and The Force Awakens, just which characters and just how large that campaign will be is pretty much still a mystery to those outside EA and DICE’s walls.

Less information still is available about the new Need for Speed game. At the end of 2016, a trademark for something called Need for Speed Arena surfaced, raising questions from fans about whether they could expect something like (arena based car sports game) Rocket League. Afterwards, EA CEO Andrew Wilson stated that the new Need for Speed would be the “most exciting” entry in the series to date. That’s certainly a strong claim from the executive, but without any footage to back it up yet, it’s hard to get too hyped.

EA Play takes place between June 10-12, with Star Wars Battlefront 2 and the new Need for Speed being playable at the event. Tickets will be available on April 20.
