Mafia 3 received a new trailer, showcasing protagonist Lincoln Clay using a variety of weapons, such as molotov cocktails, shotguns and rocket launchers.
The Mafia series has given players a broad variety over the years, having started in the 1930s before jumping to the era of the 1940s and 1950s. The forthcoming Mafia 3 is no different, moving gamers to a New Orleans-alike New Bordeaux in 1968, and putting them in control of a new protagonist in the form of Lincoln Clay. One thing that all Mafia games have in common is violence.
Fans of the series who are looking forward to this sequel have receied a new trailer that shows a small amount of the violence in Mafia 3. The trailer looks at weapons that will be included in the game, showing how Lincoln Clay uses a variety of tools to take on enemies. All the items in Clay’s arsenal are described as a precision instrument of death, which makes the player character of the title have a lot of power at his disposal.
Anything from pistols to rocket launchers will be available, as well as explosives like molotov cocktails and C4. The trailer also hints some of the options that players have to tweak their weapons, such as hollow point rounds and silencers. Anyone interested in seeing the trailer in action or getting a glimpse at what weapons will be available before the game releases on October 7th can do so in the video bellow.
The trailer shows a bit of a different edge to the game in comparison to what we’ve seen before. After all, Mafia 3 developer Hangar 13 so far has indicated that its game has a dark focus and heavy subject matter. This trailer, however, doesn’t give a lighter tone, but at least one that allows Clay to more that hold his own.
Mafia 3 has shown a lot of promise so far, with an intriguing story of brooding revenge and redemption and some vicious combat. Of course previous games in the series have received a mixed reception but Hangar 13 and 2K Games will be aiming for the title to improve upon its predecessors.
