Mafia 3 Reveals Story DLC Plans

Video game developer Hangar 13 revealed official details regarding the plans for upcoming story expansions in its open world crime title, Mafia 3.

As originally reported by GameSpot, Mafia 3’s first upcoming expansion will be called “Faster, Baby!,” and it’s going to be focused on “fast cars, dramatic chases, and epic stunt driving,” and players will also be tasked with taking down a corrupt sheriff in a new area to the game in the outskirts of New Bordeaux. Even though Hangar 13 didn’t share an exact release date, the developer did confirm that “Faster, Baby!” is to become available sometime at the end of March 2017.

The second story DLC pack planned for Mafia 3 is called “Stones Unturned,” and it revolves around the protagonist Lincoln Clay, as well as a CIA agent named John Donovan, which is scheduled to arrive in May 2017. The third piece of post-launch content teased by Hangar 13 is called “Sign of the Times,” and it focuses on the themes of drugs and religion in New Bordeaux’s inner city. Similar to the expansion packs mentioned earlier, “Sign of the Times” lacks a specific release date, but the developer thinks it’s best to release it in July of this year.

Prior to “Faster, Baby!,” “Stones Unturned,” and “Sign of the Times,” Mafia 3 has received a good amount of post-launch content, including one DLC portion with a free racing mode, another adding a new golden gun, and one more bringing lots of new outfits. While many thought that Mafia 3 will be one of the most disappointing games of 2016, perhaps some will change their mind of the game’s quality when all of its DLC becomes available.

Taken all of this into consideration, regardless of the fact that Mafia 3 didn’t get stellar reviews, it’s nice to see Hangar 13 remaining dedicated to providing the game with solid support after its initial launch.

Mafia 3 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
