A fan has edited footage from Destiny over the audio from the latest trailer for Ghost in the Shell, the live action version of the classic anime.
This isn’t the first time Destiny fans combined footage from Bungie’s sci-fi shooter to create trailers from remakes of movies. As a matter of fact, not so long ago, someone imagined what it would look like if Destiny had an anime style opening cinematic. Now, speaking of anime, a different fan has placed clips of Destiny over the audio from the new Ghost in the Shell trailer.
‘Destiny Massive Breakdowns’ did some quick editing as the Ghost in the Shell trailer came out recently, on November 13, and the video got posted a day after. Ghost in the Shell, which stars Scarlett Johansson, is the first live action remake of the popular anime with the same name.
What fans have done now isn’t any different than what fans did in the past, using Destiny clips to edit a version of a movie trailer. Back in 2015, a trailer mashup of Destiny and The Force Awakens made the rounds, and it was very impressive.
The Exo Stranger will fill in for a lot of Major’s, who is the main character in Ghost of the Shell, shots, although, very little is known about this character. Besides the additional Grimoire cards that will get added into the game, and the reveal of her character model that was meant for the character Osiris, she remains an enigma.
Hopefully, at the end, Destiny 2 will pick up some of the threads of vanilla Destiny’s original story, just like the Exo Stranger, and will tie all loose ends together for all the fans around the world. But, unfortunately everyone will just have to keep on waiting like everybody did so far, because we will be getting those answers sometime in 2017. Meanwhile, possible mashup trailers like this one wouldn’t hurt anyone.
