First Look on Battlefield 1 Map Ahead of Reveal

In a blog post, EA revealed that a new trailer for Battlefield 1 is going to be released next week, saying that the trailer will reveal a new map and perhaps a new vehicle.

DICE’s decision to turn away from creating another modern/sci-fi shooter, has showed to be an absolute success for the game developer. Fans and critics have almost widely agreed that placing Battlefield 1 in World War 1 has given the series a breath of fresh air.

EA and DICE have kept exciting news about Battlefield 1 at a fever pitch by unveiling the alpha gameplay at E3 2016, and eventually releasing a few gameplay trailers that show off the game’s weapons and classes. EA, who doesn’t want this excitement to die down, has announced earlier that after this year’s Gamescom, the open beta would become available.

To bridge the gap between now and the beta, EA has announced that Battlefield 1’s new trailer would debut next week in a blog post on Battlefield 1’s website.

“Next week at Gamescom…a new Battlefield Squads livestream will show off a new map filled with Only in Battlefield gameplay. A new trailer will be coming soon as well, with a trainload of new information about Battlefield 1.”

The post goes on, saying that the word “trainload” teases what the new map is going to bring, and based on the image, it looks like the battle will be on the desert map that appeared in the debut gameplay trailer. For those who can’t recall, the trailer ends with soldiers on horseback riding at high-speed towards a massive black train.

So it seems that the evidence strongly points toward the desert map being the next big thing for Battlefield 1. The game seems to be making progress on giving players a variety of vehicles that are not traditionally a part of first person shooters, like zeppelins and horses, and it now looks like trains can be added to that list. Naturally, this is all just a speculation while fans contain their excitement until the livestream on August 16th.

Battlefield will launch on October, 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
