BioShock PC Remaster Lacks Key Features

A number of PC gamers reveal that many of the same bugs and crashes that were present in the original games exist in BioShock: The Collection as well, with only slightly upgraded graphics.

As stated by many PC gamers, BioShock: The Collection causes a great deal of players to be frustrated. Ranging from graphic issues to crashes, it seems the remastered BioShock games are suffering from many of the same issues the original games did, at least on PC.

Thanks to the feedback reports from players, the biggest issues with BioShock: The Collection became evident rather fast. One of the most important issues submitted by players is the underwhelming visuals. As one gamer put it, the game looks “retextured,” not remastered. It appears that BioShock 2 isn’t much better, either, with players claiming the graphics are only marginally better from the original game.

Players also encountered many of the legacy issues in BioShock that they did the first time around. One of these issues is a game-breaking crash that happens when players try to enter Rapture with the Bathysphere.

The game’s mouse issues were also criticized by BioShock players. Mouse sensitivity was a familiar issue on BioShock for PC when it was originally announced, and it seems the issue hasn’t been solved.

Even those players who gave BioShock: The Collection positive reviews have voiced their frustrations about the missing visual upgrade. One reviewer in particular, DigitalCreation, expressed very well what most players are currently experiencing with the remastered collection:

“It’s certainly not terrible, but it’s lazy. Old bugs from the original game are still present and the graphics are only slightly better. This is the best version only because of the small graphics update.”

Here’s hoping that 2K games will release a patch that fixes the bugs and crashes, though it’s unknown if the development team will do anything to upgrade the graphics beyond the current state. That might be something the community takes on in the form of mods, as players have done with many other games in the past.
