Developers for Bethesda will eventually release games for the Nintendo NX. This information is revealed by Bethesda Game Studios and it should make things easier for both companies.
With Quakecon 2016 having recently taken place over the weekend, Bethesda used the event to reveal tons of information in regards to Doom, Dishonored 2, Fallout, Quake Champions, Prey and The Elder Scrolls Legends. Most interestingly though, Pete Hines stated that his studio will probably go on to offer third-party support for the upcoming Nintendo NX console right after it gets released.
According to an interview with Finder.com.au, Hines was asked about what Bethesda’s position on releasing titles for the Nintendo NX is, and if the fans should await the developer’s games to show up on the console. Bethesda’s executive answered this question by declaring that both him and his company haven’t yet ruled it out, but it’s still a case of determining whether the studio’s products would be right fit for the still-under-development Nintendo platform.
The NX has a pretty solid lineup of first party titles upon its release. It’s been reported that it comes with Super Mario, Zelda and Pokemon as launch games. If popular developers like Bethesda make its games available for the console, then it’s possible that the Nintendo NX could attend in a renaissance for the company with its world renown stable of IPs being present alongside releases available on Sony’s and Microsoft’s platform.
No matter what the case may be for Bethesda games to show up on the Nintendo NX, Hines said that it’s still too early to make concrete, declarative statements about how third party releases will work on the console. Particulars about the Big N’s system are still relatively scant, as most of what we know so far are rumors. Nonetheless it’s safe to say that once more solid information is revealed about the NX, and to a greater extend, Nintendo’s relationship with Bethesda most gaming fans will begin to become more attuned to and excited for the console’s potential.
