As of yesterday, DICE’s new holiday event for Battlefield 1 is now live, which includes a new custom game mode and lots of free content such as Battlepacks, dog tags, and more.
In a new post on the official Battlefield site, the full schedule for each holiday event has finally been revealed. An all-new custom mode called Blind Delivery is now available and it offers a slight change on the War Pigeons multiplayer mode. The mini-map in Blind Delivery is turned off completely along with most other weapons and gadgets as well. Players will only have their trusty handguns and explosives available for use.
Players can now unlock the “Holiday Truce” Dog Tag just by logging into the game. In addition, players are now able to further customize various tanks, planes and other vehicles through newly added vehicle skins. Also included in the latest Battlepack revisions are the two new heavy tank skins with the Distinguished “SchnucK” and Legendary “Desert Gold” variations.
Apart from Battlepacks, every player that logs into Battlefield 1 from December 23 to December 29 will get a free Superior Battlepack, containing some valuable and rare weapon skins. Not only that, those players who have purchased the Premium Pass, an additional two Superior Battlepacks will also be delivered for free as well. DICE has also confirmed that these two are in addition to the normal 14 promised Superior Battlepacks coming throughout the months.
Looks like the holiday season is bringing out the best in some of the bigger video games currently on the market. Special events for popular games like Overwatch and Destiny have already been rolled out in order to entice players to log back in to take part in special game modes and unlock new rewards. Much like its popular Halloween event, Overwatch has added a brand new game mode along with event unique customization options such as a Mei legendary skin that has brought up some controversy at the moment. Even Rainbow Six Siege is getting in on the holiday fun by offering time challenges which unlock unique visual items like weapon charms and skins.
Battlefield 1 is currently available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
