Developer of video games CD Projekt Red has officially confirmed the upcoming release of a Game of the Year Edition for its action RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Now that Blood and Wine, the last expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been put out by developers at CD Projekt Red, fans are undoubtedly questioning as to whether or not the studio would release a collection of some kind, containing all the open world title has to offer.
Luckily, game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz recently confirmed that The Witcher 3 is going to receive just that in the form of a Game of the Year Edition. After the German age-ratings board USK found out a listed entry for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Game of the Year Edition for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, Tomaszkiewicz talked to the press outlet Eurogamer on the matter to officially verify its existence.
Even though CD Projekt Red haven’t stated exactly when the Game of the Year version would drop for the action RPG, a source that’s close to Eurogamer stated that it launches on August 26, 2016. Besides, since Tomaszkiewicz didn’t reveal any specific details as to what The Witcher’s GotY version would contain, one can only be left to think that the special edition will give players every bit of content released for the title so far, mostly since the game director mentioned all of this in his statement.
In any case, when it comes to the offerings of The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt – Game of the Year Edition, it’s safe to assume that when it gets released, fans will help add to CD Projekt Red’s already massive revenue accomplished during its financial quarter thanks to the title. Most importantly, considering the pile up of praise the base game itself received when it launched last year from reviewers and fans alike, the likelihood of being able to purchase every open world title’s critically acclaimed offerings in one sweep should be tempting to those that have yet to experience what’s easily one of the top 10 best video games of 2015.
