Bethesda announced a re-release of the MMO that includes the base game plus four DLC expansion packs, The Elder Scrolls Online Gold Edition.
Bethesda made major changes to The Elder Scrolls Online over the past 18 months. These changes have in mind to draw in more players to this game. In January last year, the game let go of its subscription model which allowed players to get access to the title forever and relied upon micro-transactions for revenue. The title’s ‘One Tamriel’ update was revealed last month with the entire world set to become accessible to every players regardless of level.
These moves were pretty well received by players and they will more than certainly help The Elder Scrolls Online add to its 7 million players figure. The announcement of The Elder Scrolls Online Gold Edition is expected to have a serious impact on numbers. The Gold Edition was revealed today by Bethesda. It is basically a repack of The Elder Scrolls Online that bundles the game with four DLC packages that have already been released as a couple of ingame goodies.
The DLCs are: Imprerial City expansion (adds new collectibles, new PVP dungeon and more), Thieves Guild (allows players to become members of the pick pocketing group), Dark Brotherhood (introduces the group of highly trained assassins) and Orisinium (adds more than 20 hours of story). The Elder Scrolls Online Gold Edition features the Palomino horse mount and 500 crowns to spend at the Crown store, if the player is a new sign-up to the game.
The price of The Gold Edition package will be 60$ and it will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One from September 9 (pre-orders are available now). The only thing unclear at the moment is whether there will be an easy path to upgrade for players who already own The Elder Scrolls Online. It’s also unknown if Bethesda will offer some sort of discount on expansions in order to soften the price blow and avoid any complaints from existing players that they are treated unfairly.
The Elder Scrolls Online Gold Edition will be released on September 9 2016 on PC, PS 4 and Xbox One.
