Xbox Australia reveals the February release month ahead of time for the upcoming multiplayer pirate game Sea of Thieves on PC and Xbox One.
Sea of Thieves was quite the surprise at this year’s E3 event, which introduced an impressive multiplayer demo that left players hungry for more. Although we don’t have an exact release date for the game, Xbox Australia has accidentally shared the game’s release month on Twitter. It seems that Xbox One and PC owners can get their hands on Sea of Thieves next February.
The Tweet has been removed, which indicates that Xbox Australia told the secret too early. The Twitter account of Xbox Autralia is filled with release date announcements, with its latest post being Red Dead Redemption’s backward compatibility launch and the release date for the BioShock Collection, so it looks like the Sea of Thieves release window is accurate, despite it being revealed prematurely.
Even though Sea of Thieves is one of the biggest Xbox One console exclusive games on the way, seems odd for its release date to be announced with a simple Tweet. Taking this into consideration, one has to think that an all new Sea of Thieves trailer will soon be revealed, and Xbox Australia just acted too soon.
When will such trailer drop remains to be seen, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see it within the week. Then again, the Sea of Thieves release date announcement and trailer may be reserved for Gamescom as a surprise from Microsoft.
As of now, not much have been shown of Sea of Thieves compared to different big games on the way, so a more comprehensive look at its gameplay features is to be expected. As it seems, there will be more to it than just letting players sail around and get drunk with friends, and so a new trailer would probably expand on what players can expect to do in Sea of Thieves.
Sea of Thieves will arrive in February, 2017 for PC and Xbox One.
