Resident Evil 4 PS4 & Xbox One Release Date Revealed

Capcom has officially revealed the release date for the groundbreaking survival horror title Resident Evil 4 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Resident Evil 4 is unquestionably considered by many to be one of the best games in the main series and it also gets often spoken of as one of the best titles to ever be released, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that after being ported for the Wii U couple of months ago that the fourth entry in Capcom’s survival horror is now coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well.

Thankfully, now the game’s developer has revealed exactly when Resident Evil 4 gets released on Sony’s and Microsoft’s current generation consoles, as it’s officially set to launch on August 30, 2016. Even though this is definitely good news for Resident Evil 4 fans who want to experience the title on latest systems, no one should anticipate the PS4 and Xbox One ports of the game to be remade or remastered, as it seems to be an untouched re-release that kept all of the elements of the original with similar graphics of the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.

With this said, it’s set to include every piece of the bonus content from the original release, as well as the New Game Plus option, Ada Wong’s side story, a Mercenaries mode, and features that were added to the later iterations of the title.

For those uninformed, since the Resident Evil franchise marks its 20th anniversary in 2016, Capcom announced that this year it would be giving the fourth, fifth, and sixth entries in the series versions on the PS4 and Xbox One. Still, not all re-releases had smooth transitions onto the platforms. For example, Resident Evil 5 made its way just recently onto the console, but sadly, some major problems were encountered, with frame rate issues being the main offender.

Resident Evil 4 is now available for GameCube, PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and Wii U, followed by the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports on August 30, 2016.
