New Injustice 2 Trailer Reveals Wonder Woman & Blue Beetle

NetherRealm Studios officially revealed two new playable characters, Wonder Woman and Blue Beetle for the upcoming fighting game Injustice 2.

During the afternoon event held today for the DC fighting game at SDCC, it was revealed that Wonder Woman and Blue Beetle are going to join the title’s ranks among the likes of Aquaman, Atrocitus, Batman, Gorilla Grodd, Superman, and Supergirl.

Although many believe that including Wonder Woman and Blue Beetle is exciting enough, as fans have been frenetically petitioning for the latest to be added since the start, the Comic-Con panel brought news that the writer of Injustice comics Tom Taylor would make a return to write the new game in the franchise. Even though it wasn’t an exact confirmation, Boon made it quite clear that a PC port for the game might happen.

In the following weeks and months, NetherRealm Studios will clearly continue to show more of Injustice 2’s character list, with future announcements most likely to include someone from the Mortal Kombat universe. Still, even though Scorpion was the most downloaded DLC character in the first part in the series, Boon said that it likely won’t be him again.

Earlier in June, Ed Boon stated that he and his team are interested on taking a more aggressive approach when it comes to DLC for Injustice 2. Naturally, such news wasn’t too surprising for fans of the original, as they expected some extra post-launch content from the sequel, noting as how NetherRealm Studios kept the first Injustice properly stocked with extra materials after its launch.

Nonetheless, it’s yet to be seen if other fan favorite characters from the DC and Mortal Kombat series will make their way into the game as DLC, with some players hoping to see the likes of Swamp Thing and Noob Saibot becoming available at some point.

The two most recent characters were shown off with brief gameplay demonstrations as shown on the official Injustice 2 trailer below. Injustice 2 is scheduled to release sometime in 2017, and is currently awaited to arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
